Alternate Earths

63. Druids' Earth

This is a world of dragons, swords, sorcerery, and love potions. Magic actually seems to be real here, especially for those people who call themselves druids. One druid in particular, Gareth Carr, has become quite powerful and very evil. Shunned by other druids, he searches for a way to become immortal.

There is, or rather was, a clan of powerful white druids who once lived on this world--their clan name was Mallory. The one remaining member of Clan Mallory is Phillip who is imprisoned in Gareth's castle. Gareth cannot kill Phillip because if you wipe out the last of a lineage it is believed you incur the wrath of Mercury, the god of high magic.

Notes

• Charlie O'Connell, who plays Officer O'Hara in this episode, is the real life brother of Jerry O'Connell (Quinn). He also has a small part in the second season episode As Time Goes By. He will be joining the cast in the fourth season as Quinn's brother from an alternate Earth.

• Max Grodenchik, who plays Skuldar in this episode, plays Rom (Quark's brother) on STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE.
