Some special geocaches can be found pretty much anywhere in the
world. No matter where you live, one or more of these caches are
probably waiting to be found within a kilometer or two of you
right now.
Each of these caches have their own special rules you'll need to
follow in order to score them. Check out the individual cache
pages to see what interesting rules the geocache owners have
come up with!
I've divided these caches up into two different categories. The first
group is more like traditional geocaching, in that you get a latitude
and longitude, perhaps from the cache's web page or by doing some research or
calculations, and then follow your GPS to that spot and report what you
find. For lack of a better name, I call these
"GPS Hunt caches."
The second group of do anywhere caches is quite a bit different from
the usual geocache hunt and is more like a true scavenger hunt.
To score these caches you typically have to go find a certain type of
object or place and then report on its location. The object itself
might be a tank, a steam train, a certain type of bridge, just about
anything. I call these
"Scavenger Hunt caches."
Have fun!
